Ocio will be ready for Tarif 595 billing
Ocio will create the reimbursement receipt for every participant straight from the booking: in the required format, with every mandatory field and the QR code the insurer needs. You enter your ZSR and GLN numbers once, give each course and membership its tariff position, and the rest happens with every booking.
- A reimbursement receipt per participant, straight from the booking
- In the XML 5.0 electronic standard, plus a printable receipt with a QR code
- ZSR, GLN and tariff position stored per course or membership
- Ready before 1 January 2027. We are working to be added to the certification bodies' software lists.
What is Tarif 595?
Tarif 595 is a single, Switzerland-wide tariff for outpatient health-promotion services. It sets out how providers of exercise and health courses itemise their services for health insurers when participants claim part of the cost back from their supplementary insurance.
It covers every outpatient health-promotion offer: memberships, group courses, personal training and online classes. The methods behind them were systematically grouped in 2025, in what is called the Methodengruppierung, and each method has its own tariff position.
Tarif 595 concerns supplementary insurance under the Insurance Contracts Act (VVG), not compulsory basic health insurance.
Why it exists
The number of receipts keeps growing, and insurers increasingly process them digitally. Until now confirmations arrived in every shape: home-made templates, till receipts, handwritten notes. One format with fixed mandatory fields makes receipts machine-readable. Reimbursement gets faster and everyone is spared the back-and-forth.
Who is behind it
Tarif 595 was drawn up by the Runder Tisch Gesundheitsförderung, the health-promotion round table. Its members include health insurers such as Concordia, CSS, EGK, Groupe Mutuel, Helsana, Sanitas, Sympany, SWICA, Visana and ÖKK, and the quality labels and certification bodies EMfit, Fitness-Guide, QualiCert, Qualitop, SFGV and BGB Schweiz.
Forum Datenaustausch administers the tariff numbers and publishes the technical standard the receipts are created in. The round table is responsible for the content of the tariff.
From when, and for whom
From 1 January 2027, outpatient health-promotion services must be billed under Tarif 595 and on the uniform invoice form. This applies to every recognised provider: fitness centres, movement studios and course providers holding a quality label such as Qualitop, QualiCert, Fitness-Guide or EMfit.
In practice that means yoga and Pilates studios, gyms, providers of back, movement and relaxation courses, and dance schools running recognised courses.
Existing memberships can carry on as before. As soon as a participant claims a reimbursement, though, the receipt has to be in the new format.
What changes for your participants
- 1They book and pay with you, as before.
- 2You give them the reimbursement receipt with a QR code or barcode.
- 3They submit it to their insurer, electronically or on paper.
- 4The insurer reimburses them whatever their supplementary insurance provides for.
How much comes back depends only on the insurer and on the participant's policy. Recognition by one insurer does not automatically mean recognition by all.
What you need as a provider
- Recognition by a certification body: Qualitop, QualiCert, Fitness-Guide (BGB Schweiz) or EMfit. Certification itself stays independent of Tarif 595.
- A ZSR number. You apply for it through your certification body; the register is run by santéservices, formerly SASIS.
- A GLN, a unique identification number, which must be in place by the end of 2026. Every provider needs its own, and several locations each get their own GLN. This too goes through the certification body.
- Software that creates receipts in the XML 5.0 standard. Handwritten receipts are no longer accepted.
What the reimbursement receipt must show
The mandatory details have to be complete and correct on the receipt itself, so the insurer can process it by machine. They include:
- The participant's first and last name and address
- Their AHV (social security) number and insured-person number
- The provider's ZSR and GLN numbers
- The validity of the membership or course, where "valid from" is the actual start date
- The correct tariff position
- Quantity and amount
- A sheet with a QR code or barcode
You still set your own prices. The tariff positions do not prescribe any amounts.
Electronic transmission (eTG)
Receipts can additionally be sent electronically, straight to the insurer, over the MediData network. This is voluntary today. According to SFGV, only Helsana can currently receive it.
It requires the participant's written consent. Once a receipt has been sent electronically, the participant must not also submit it on paper.
Ocio starts with the receipt in the standard format. Electronic transmission over MediData is planned for later.
What does not change
- You still set your own prices.
- Your certification stays independent of Tarif 595.
- Each insurer still decides how much it reimburses.
Frequently asked questions
- When does Tarif 595 apply?
- From 1 January 2027, health insurers only accept receipts for outpatient health-promotion services under Tarif 595 and in the uniform format.
- Do I need new software as a provider?
- You need software that creates reimbursement receipts in the XML 5.0 standard with every mandatory field. Handwritten receipts are no longer accepted. Ocio will create these receipts straight from the booking.
- Where do I get a ZSR number and a GLN?
- You apply for both through your certification body, for example Qualitop, QualiCert, Fitness-Guide or EMfit. Every provider needs its own ZSR number, and every location its own GLN.
- Do I have to change my prices?
- No. Tarif 595 does not set prices. It defines how a service is itemised, not what it costs.
- How does Ocio support Tarif 595?
- Ocio will create the reimbursement receipt for every participant straight from the booking, in the XML 5.0 standard and as a printable receipt with a QR code, ready before 1 January 2027. We are working to be added to the certification bodies' software lists.
